Self-love: regard for one’s own well-being and happiness (chiefly considered as a desirable rather than narcissistic characteristic). How often do you actually take the time to love and care for yourself? Daily? Monthly? Yearly? Sometimes speaking in general terms we tend to put everybody else before our own needs and as a mother and the nurturing-kind that truly is what comes natural. Truth is…no matter who you are you deserve to take that time for yourself. We are the ones in control of our own happiness and need to take responsibility for our own actions in life. Yes, it is a choice.

Starting with little things each day, do what you love and do things that fuel your soul and fill your heart. It could be little things like taking the time to allow the sunshine to beam on your face and smile while doing so, laughing more with your children, bundling up and going for a walk in the crisp air to awaken your senses, or even sitting in silence (or with music on your headphones) just breathe and enjoy. Taking a moment to yourself may be as little as taking extra time in the shower, cooking a beautiful meal for you and your family, going to get a massage, exercising, yoga or even meditating. Whatever fills your cup and makes you feel whole, make a promise to yourself to reflect on your life, and all of your blessings or overcoming the challenges you may be facing. Whatever it may be…you are worth it. Embracing yourself will only make you a better person; whether you are a mother, father, wife, husband, sister, brother, or friend…you will be better and you absolutely deserve it.

Now as a mother of three beautiful children and a wife, it’s so easy and natural to put everyone else in front of myself but from now on everyday I am choosing to take time to care for myself. It will only make me healthier, happier and more  of a loving person in every role of my life. I challenge you to do the same. Today I am writing this simple because I love to write, I love to share my experiences with the world and grant my messages…this fills my soul with so much goodness to impact other.

Cherish yourself and share some ways that feed your soul.

Sending so much love and light in your direction.

stop and smell the sunflowers

Enjoy the sunflowers.

Shine on, my loves.

Catching the sunset.

Divine Ananda.

Allow me to explain…

I chose the word divine, for it is just truly one of my favorite words. It is a lovely word with a special meaning. Ananda…speaking in yoga terms, this is the condition of utter joy. In other words: pure, and utter bliss, which is something I believe many or most of us yearn for in our everyday lives.

Seeking ananda I believe is discovering or just paying attention to the light and joy all around you and within you. Choosing to be happy. Choosing to rise above to learn and grow from a challenging experience. Having an intention to love, to be joyful, and to truly live life to the fullest is healthy and attainable.

Sometimes we just need to learn to just go with the flow and roll with the punches. In my experience, it is rewarding to keep positive affirmations close to your heart.

  • *know that love is always present in me and everything*
  • *see the world with new eyes*
  • *be filled with enthusiasm and gratitude*
  • *I am strong*
  • *I am beautiful and blessed*

Start with this and you will soon be on your way to living a joyful, full life.
